Welcome to the first edition of "Engaging Reads". Moving away from my earlier style to share the reads as stand-alone posts I have decided to share them as a collective of 3-4 every weekend. It will be accompanied by a short summary of what I think about them.

I'm excited to share three fascinating articles I've discovered this week that really made me think - and I hope they'll intrigue you too.

You know that feeling when you've finished something but you're already thinking about how to make it better next time? This wonderful piece by Celine Nguyen calls it 'divine discontent' - and turns out, it might be exactly what makes life interesting! She looks at how some of the most fulfilled people are constantly itching to improve, learn, and grow. Instead of seeing this as a burden, they embrace it. What I love most about this article is how it shows that this isn't about being negative or perfectionist - it's about finding joy in the endless journey of getting better at what we do.

Here's a mind-bending story that made me rethink everything I knew about memory. Meet Susie McKinnon, who lives a completely normal life but can't vividly remember her own past experiences - not her wedding day, not her travels, nothing! She has something called Severely Deficient Autobiographical Memory (SDAM). What's fascinating is that she can learn, hold down a job, and maintain relationships just fine. It really makes you wonder - how much of our past do we actually need to remember to live a full life? This article completely changed how I think about memories and what makes us who we are.

If you've ever wondered what happens when someone dedicates their life to exploring interesting ideas, this is your answer. Maria Popova looks back at 18 years of running The Marginalian (which used to be called Brain Pickings). What started as simple emails to friends about cool things she was reading turned into one of the internet's most wonderful spaces for discovering ideas. Reading this felt like sitting down with a friend who's excitedly sharing their favorite books and thoughts about life. It's a beautiful reminder that following your curiosity, no matter where it leads, can create something truly special.

Till next week...
