Just a ‘Pale Blue Dot’?

On Valentine’s day in the year 1990, the spacecraft Voyager 1 turned it’s camera to look back at our home, planet Earth. The scientist who wanted to see this view was Carl Sagan.

The picture beamed back grinds a deep sense of humility into anyone who sits with 5 minutes of contemplation on this profound pic.

Earth as we know it, it’s history and culture as we study and every single living being we can imagine is contained in this dot barely visible.

In this article (which expands on Carl Sagan’s famous words) the author muses about where we are heading and how this pic can help us find a bearing in this increasingly fast paced lifestyle.
