The New Rice

Rice is staple food for majority of Asians. Growing it consumes large amounts of water and energy. We might now have an alternative that infact is better in all contexts: more protein, easy to grow,and absorbing more carbon than tropical forests. It’s from eelgrass that grows in the seas. With three-fourth of the planet as a potential place to grow, this looks like a promising grain.
